Search text (wanted persons bulletin) in the internet published by the police shortly after the act :

Useful lead
Useful lead about the following wanted persons bulletin will be taken by all police stations and by the local public prosecutor's office ( you find the telephone number of the appropriate "public prosecutor's office Moenchengladbach/Germany" at the bottom of each bulletin).

On April 9th, 2000 at around 4:00 p.m. the 21-year-old Janine K. was stabbed to death in Moenchengladbach/Germany. Under prime suspicion is Mohammad Fahim ASSAR born on November 28th, 1975 in Jalabad/Afghanistan - marital status: single. [comment: wrong spelling - it has to be spelt "Jalalabad"]

The accused ASSAR is on the run. Present whereabouts unknown - maybe in neighboring states. The public prosecutor's office Moenchengladbach/Germany has offered a reward of 3,000 DM (in words: three thousand Deutsche Mark - now approx. 1,500 €) for information that leads to an arrest.
[comment: reward is increased by privat initiative up to 10,000 DM - now approx. 5,000 €]

Award and distribution of the reward: there can be no recourse to litigation. The reward is only intended for privat persons and is not intended for officials of (criminal) prosecution.

Useful lead can be given to any police station, the police station in Moenchengladbach (TEL +49-2161-290) and the public prosecutor's office Moenchengladbach (TEL +49-2161-2760)

Additional personal information:

Janine Kuehn is my daughter. She was only 21 years old, when she was stabbed in broad daylight just in front of her doorstep. The killer fled with a car which belonged to his brother. The police arrested the killer's brother therefore and recognized the mistake some days later. The police hunt was unsuccessful because the killer had sufficient time to escape abroad. From Moenchengladbach und Kaldenkirchen (residence of the brother) you will be with a car in a few minutes in Netherland and then in 2 - 3 hours at Airport Amsterdam. A TV program called "Aktenzeichen XY ... ungeloest" ("File XY ... unresolved") was without success. The killer ASSAR had left at that time Germany and Europe long time before. Weeks after the crime an international warrant of arrest was issued ... too late at all.

Assar was an employee of McDonald's in Moenchengladbach. Maybe he exercises a similar activity in catering trade somewhere else in the world.

It is also possible that he fled to Afghanistan. Assar had told some colleagues of McDonald's that his uncle is a local leader of Taliban. In the year 2000 he was absolutly safe in Afghanistan.

Assar's parents live near Munich/Germany, but they didn't give any useful lead. Maybe Assar will contact his parents somtime in the future or he returns to Germany under false name.

Useful info should be given to the above mentioned offices and police stations. Please, give me an additional information via email. Write to me.

Thanks
Ingolf Kuehn
